In a state of confusion

Well I thought I would do a little blogging about my week. On Monday I had my OB call and say they wanted me to come in for a pelvic exam not sure why but they thought that my perinatologist saw something like an infection from my ultrasound but they could not say for sure. As soon as I hung up with them my fertility doctor called and wanted to know what the perinatologist said and seemed puzzled by the fact that I was not coming in for a CVS (where they take a piece of my placenta and check for chromosomal abnormalities). I explained to them that the u/s was normal and that I was waiting on my blood work to come back, again they seemed puzzled that it was normal and that I was waiting for the blood work to come back before the next step, if there was one. Well what do you think I did after that craziness, yep that's right I called the my perinatologist to find out if someone new something that I didn't. Again they confirmed that the u/s was normal and that they just got my blood work back and it too was normal and that they would see me in 5 weeks, well 4 weeks now. Soo still confused we went to my OBGYN on Wednesday for my exam where the doctor seemed just as confused as we were. He said I did not have an infection and since I was on progesterone that is what they had seen in the u/s. Who knew? However my doctor felt since there was so much confusion that he would like me to go back to the perinatologist this week and have another u/s of the baby to reconfirm the results. Did you get all that!! Soooooooo I am going to have my u/s done today at 2:30pm, which I hope all will look well. Like I was not worried enough to begin with and now they have me running all over the place. I guess I should be thankful that I have all these wonderful doctors looking after me and baby buttress to make sure all is well, maybe after today I will be lessed confused. Stay tuned for these our the days of our lives!!

BB Update

OK so this is not the best picture but it is something, no scanner yet so still taking them with the camera!! Anyways this was last Thursday, I have been a little slow with getting the blog updated. This u/s put me at 11 weeks 6 days, so 2 days ahead but its all the same give or take a few days right. So yes that means that I am in my 12th week, ending my first trimester already, I can not believe it. We don't have all the results back from our appointment with the perinatologist on Thursday but they did say that the fluid between the baby's neck and the spine is measuring normal. So this made us feel better, but we have to wait until we get all the blood work back at the end of the week, once that comes back then I guess I am put into a risk category, I'm not sure, its all confusing and overwhelming at times. I know we go back in 5 weeks, the end of September for the 2nd round of testing, and then 3 weeks after that for them to look at the heart. What in the world, so many tests and questions. I am still dry heaving but people tell me that should end after this week, so we will see. I do not care, I have waited for so long for this, I will take whatever the baby wants to throw at me :)!! I will update when we get the blood work back. Michael's mom is still in the ICU, not doing well and all of our free time is spent in the hospital hanging out with her. The house is coming along and I hope to post some pictures later on today, I need to empty my camera it is full. We will find out the sex in about 4 weeks we hope, so when we know you will know. I told Michael a few weeks ago I think it's a girl, just a feeling that I have but I have a 50/50 chance right!! Any takers?

Baby Buttress Update

Here is baby buttress at 10 1/2 weeks, growing and wiggling around again on the u/s. Michael was there to witness it and then the baby flipped around from one side of my belly to the other side, pretty cool. Yesterday was a rough day for us so I will blog some of it. Although baby is growing and heartbeat is good, at 168 there is come concern. They doctor saw some thickening in the bone tissue around the baby's neck and so next Tuesday we will go to the perinatologist where they will do another u/s and blood work to see if there is more to be concerned about. Most of the ladies who have babies or are pregnant now know how this goes. He said not to freak out and it could be nothing, sometimes they see it and it goes away. Depending on what they find, which we have to wait a week for the results, will determine what our next step will be. This situation weighs heavily on my mind, as I tell you Michael is the positive one and my mind starts racing. As some of you know, Michael's mom has been in the hospital since last Sunday and is very sick and in the ICU. Some days are better than others but we have a long road ahead of us, so needless to say we are a bit overwhelmed with all that is going on. We thank all of our friends and family once again for their continued love and support, it really means a lot to us and helps us get through our difficult days. We will keep you posted when we have some news.

Wiggle Wiggle Wiggle

I went to the doctors on Tuesday for my u/s and saw baby buttress dancing and wiggling around on the screen. It was really amazing, I am just sorry Michael missed it but I am going back next week for another one so hopefully he will be able to make it then. Everything looks right on track and the heartbeat was at 174. I am 9 1/2 weeks and I think after seeing the baby wiggle/dance (that's what it looked like to me) it is starting to sink in that I am pregnant. After so long of trying and disappointment it was taking my brain a little time to wrap around the idea of me actually being able to get preggo. I am feeling OK, tired in the afternoons, some more than others, and dry heaving here and there. As long as I am eating every 2 hours I am OK, but I still feel pretty nauseous throughout the day, belly has been pretty uncomfortable all day, oh well I am loving it all!! We are still working on the addition but things are going S-L-O-W!! Lumber is suppose to be getting delivered tomorrow so hopefully things will get back on track.
